Joost van Acht is Managing Director for
Southeast Asia at CVDT Consulting, a carbon advisory firm with its main focus on
the Asia-Pacific region. He works together with local project developers to
obtain additional revenues through the carbon market. Since 2004, he has been
working on projects in China that involve renewable energy, industrial energy
efficiency and bio-energy. In 2008 he established the company’s Southeast Asia
Office in Singapore from where he provides a wider range of carbon advisory
services to clients in the region.
Joost is a trained economist educated in the Netherlands,
Portugal and Japan. Prior to his work in the carbon market he was employed as an
economic policy consultant and carried out advisory work for the Dutch
government and the European Commission.
With climate change a 21st century reality, CVDT Consulting
offers a wide range of services. For technology companies this could mean
