Mr. Schkade joined the SAE International staff in 2003 to lead business development in the Asia-Pacific region. He is also responsible for advancing SAE International’s contributions in the Mobility Electronics industries and leads the Open Innovation program for the organization.

Prior to SAE International, Mr. Schkade was with General Motors Corporation, starting in 1980 at the GM Research Laboratories where he investigated advanced powertrain technologies. He then became a Section Head in Systems Engineering, helping to bring systems methodologies into the product development process. Subsequent positions included Engineering Group Manager for the GM Truck Group and Resident Manager for Product Development at the GM Proving Grounds in Arizona. Mr. Schkade has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University and a MBA in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
